What will happen? | A chance to learn more about how to propagate local natives from seed.  You will go home with a tray of seeds...a few for your garden and some spares for the bush!

Write and Walk

Nature writing in our times is no longer simply a celebration. It embodies ideas of deep ecology and the relationship between human, animal and nature, and has the power to transform thinking.

When | November 11
Where | Meet at the Yabberup Hall. We will car pool from there
Time | 10am - 12pm
What will happen? | This workshop will  involve reading and writing while we walk through the wonderful Yabberup forest.
Facilitator | Donna Mazza is an award winning local author. Donna teaches writing and literature at Edith Cowan University South West Campus.

.BYO | Water, hat, sunscreen, good hiking shoes, pen and paper

What Wildflower is that?

When | October 15
Where | Meet at the Yabberup Hall. We will car pool from there
Time | 10am - 1pm
What will happen? | Local wildflower enthusiasts Steve and Sherry will take us on a easy going walk to find out about our local wildflowers. It will also be a chance to participate in a citizen survey - where we will record how many species are currently in bloom.
BYO | Water, hat, sunscreen, good hiking shoes, lunch, pen

Let's Go Fly a Kite

When | October 8
Where | Follow the signs from Yabberup Hall
Time | 10am - 12pm
What will happen? | Aidon and Laura from the Carnaby's Community Action Group will be flying the 3m Carnaby's kite.  They are also members of Birdlife Australia and give a short talk on Carnaby Cockatoos.
BYO | Morning tea and picnic rug

and then hit the dance floor with the Electric Gypsies (classic rock) 


$20 per ticket
Maximum of 100 people

The venue is under a large morton bay fig tree. 

Bring a rug to sit on, picnic basket and and non alcoholic drinks. NO BYO ALCOHOL. It is a licenced venue with a range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks for sale. 

Food hampers can be preordered @ $30 per person

Cottages are available if you would like to make a weekend of it and sleep over. For more information on accommodation click here.

The Birds and Plants of Jarrah/Marri Forests

Sunday, September 4
It was a stunning day for a bushwalk. 36 people all up explored Arcadia Forest, one of the forests we want included in a Greater Wellington National Park. Our walk took us past some lovely Blackbutt and really old grass trees. Super special! Thanks Scott

Bibbulmun Bushtucker Walk

A delightful walk along the Bibbulmun Track and a chance to learn more about local bushtucker plants.

Citizen Science is a great way to learn more about our flora and fauna. Steve and Sherry took us on a wonderful wildflower walk. We found 104 different types of plants.

Windfall walk and eco-dyes

Our final spring walk…a chance to collect the gifts of the bush and create a beautiful momento.
